Saturday, January 28th, 2023 - Another nice evening of acoustic music over at our friends at Franklins Public House.
Saturday, January 28th, 2023 - Another nice evening of acoustic music over at our friends at Franklins Public House.
Saturday, October 8th, 2022 - As the last outdoor show of the season, the temps in Baroda Michigan were only in the mid 50’s. Chrissy and Neal still had a blast up at Round Barn. Check out the of some of the newer stuff:
Sunday, September 18th, 2022 - It was an unusually hot and humid day, especially for this late in September, but Chrissy and Neal made the most of some of the last warm days of a Chicago summer. In My Life, Whiskey Glasses and Poor Poor Pitiful Me made debuts.
Saturday, August 6th, 2022 - With temps in the 90’s and the humidity off the charts, our yearly road trip to the Psycho Silo Saloon was probably the hottest performance we’ve ever played! It was still a blast while the band legged out a four hour performance. The full band version of Jackson made it’s debut.
Friday, July 29th, 2022 - It was great to have the full band at Ballydoyle’s in Downers Grove this past Friday. Fadeaway, Drift Away, Hurt So Good made full band debuts.
Saturday/Sunday July 16/17 - An acoustic weekend double header featuring Hughie Mcclafferty's in Lemont Saturday night followed by our first ever trip to Potters Place in Naperville on Sunday. Post Malone’s “Circles” and Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock & Roll” made their first appearances.
Sunday, July 10th, 2022 - The timeline of this past weekend was pure madness! It started out with an early acoustic performance at Tailgaters in Bolingbrook. After the show, Chrissy and Neal catch AC & Breeze on Tailgatiers main stage. After the show, Neal gets home only to throw 30 pounds of pork shoulder on the ol’ smoker for an overnight cook. By noon the next day the pork is pulled of the smoker to rest.
Saturday evening, the massive pork haul is delivered to CK drummer Carter’s birthday shindig in Plainfield, and is enjoyed by all. Sunday, Chrissy and Neal were back at it performing at Pollyanna Brewing Co’s patio in Lemont.
Saturday May 21st, 2022 - It was fantastic to have the full band together for our first time at North & Maple in Tinley Park. We’ll be back on November 5th!
Friday, April 8th, 2022 - It was a fantastic evening among friends, family and fellow music and beer fans at Pollyanna Brewing. Check out “Sucker” below:
Saturday, March 5th - 2022 - Chrissy and Neal, back to see our friends at Girl In The Park. Check out the video below:
Saturday, February 26th - 2022 – The full band saw action for a private party with our friends, the Sokol Riders on the West Side this past weekend. This was the first time the full band performed in almost six months and it really it didn’t seem like we skipped a beat! With many in attendance having friends and family in Poland as well as the Ukraine, the unrest in Eastern Europe weighed heavily on many of us. An impromptu performance of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs never felt more on point.
Saturday, February 19th - 2022 - While the full band is busy gearing up for some spring dates, Chrissy and Neal kicked off a onec-a-month residency with our friends at Franklin’s Public House in Palos Heights. With several people requesting tunes and hanging around after the dinner hour, we seem to be (hopefully) putting the pandemic behind us. Sympathy For The Devil makes a debut. We’ll be back at FPH March 11th, April 30th, May 14th and June 3rd. Mark your calendars!
Friday, December 3rd - 2021 - Chrissy and Neal rolled into Beerhead for the first time in beautiful Elmhurst. With 50+ available beers on draft, and twice that in cans, Beerhead definitely options for thirsty patrons.
Friday, October 22nd, 2021 - It’s been a while since we last performed at Draft Picks. It was great to be back!
Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 - We had a blast performing for the NWTHA Association in Naperville!
Saturday, September 25th, 2021 - Back in February of 2015, C.K. and The Gray hit the stage at the corner pub for the first time, opening for local juggernaut (at the time) Urban Sprawl. The early years of C.K.... well, we wouldn't call it a rocky start, but it did take a little time to find our voice as well as settle on the band lineup and song selections. Not factoring the Covid disruption, the band has been averaging between 40 and 50+ gigs a year the past four years! That's a lot of hard work, miles traveled, and tunes played. We've also gained some life long friendships, worked with some fantastic organizations and performed in a lot of cool venues for some great communities.
As always, Round Barn in Baroda Michigan was a fantastic backdrop for gig number 200! It's an amazing accomplishment to put together a band just to play one gig, let alone 200 of them. As always, we cannot do any of this without the support of our friends, family and fans.
Saturday, September 11th, 2021 - It’s been awhile since the band’s last trip to Balldoyle’s, but it really was a fantastic show. The highlight was Chrissy asking for a moment of silence out of respect for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The respected silence was quite powerful. You could have heard a pin drop until Neal started softly playing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. Neal and Chrissy admitted performing the song was unexpectedly emotional.
The lowlight was when Neal foolishly set his Taylor on his stool and then promptly knocked it over resulting in a huge gouge in the finish! The Luthier is getting a call this week! Check out some Johnny Cash below:
Friday, September 3rd, 2021 - It was a fantastic evening back at Franklin’s. We’ll be back on Saturday December 11th!
Monday, August 30th, 2021 - We at CK and The Gray are proud supporters of military veterans and gold star families of those who have fallen. Like many others, we are broken-hearted over the loss of the 13 service men and women killed in Kabul on August 26th. We humbly stand with others around the country as we reserve a table and buy a round to the brave who have fallen.
Saturday, August 28th, 2021 - The Acoustic Trio along with many wine and beer enthusiasts shrugged off yet another sweltering day of heat and humidity for a fantastic afternoon of acoustic rock in Baroda Michigan for Round Barn’s Jammin’ in the Vineyard. Even with temps flirting in the low 90’s, the Round Barn Estate remains a highlight for the band. We’ll be back again on September 25th!
